A two-way commitment between the school and the family that supports every child's progress.

Al-Mishkah Arabic School works best when the school and family work together. This page explains what each side commits to, and what you are agreeing to when you tick the Learning Partnership declaration during registration.

How the partnership works

Al-Mishkah Arabic School and the parent/guardian both have an important role. The school provides teaching, structure, support and a safe learning environment. Parents support attendance, behaviour, homework and learning at home. Children are expected to participate, listen, practise and make a genuine effort.

  • Teach the planned programme.
  • Provide appropriate supervision.
  • Support children's learning and progress.
  • Give reasonable homework/practice where appropriate.
  • Communicate significant learning or behaviour concerns.
  • Maintain safeguarding, health & safety and complaints procedures.

🏡 Parents will

  • Bring children regularly and on time.
  • Support respectful behaviour.
  • Help children complete homework and practise at home.
  • Encourage Qur'an/Arabic/Islamic Studies practice.
  • Provide learning materials where requested.
  • Communicate concerns and relevant changes promptly.

Learning & homework: a shared responsibility

  • The school: plans appropriate learning, teaches the programme, monitors participation/progress and communicates where additional support is needed.
  • The parent: provides a suitable opportunity at home for homework, Qur'an revision, Arabic practice or other agreed work, and encourages the child to complete it consistently.
  • The child: attends, listens, participates, asks for help when needed and makes a reasonable effort to complete classwork and homework.
  • If a child is struggling: parents should tell the teacher/School Lead. The school and family should work together to understand the difficulty and agree practical support.
  • Homework is support, not punishment: the aim is to reinforce learning, build good habits and help children progress between Saturday sessions.

What this means when you register

By ticking the Learning Partnership declaration on the registration form, you are confirming: “I understand that the school and family both have responsibilities for my child's progress, including attendance, behaviour and homework/home practice.”
